The classic 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO might set to monster world record car price.
The asking price is a whopping £45million (nearly NZ$79 million). It will certainly set a new world record for being the most expensive car yet!
Another 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO sold at auction in 2014 for NZD$54 million and was the most valuable car ever sold at auction.
Despite being over half a century old, the coupe can still do zero to sixty miles per hour in less than six seconds. It still has a top speed of more than 170 miles per hour. It has 3-litre V12 engine with 300bhp, and with a weight of just 880kg.
Ferrari describes it as “the car that summed up Ferrari philosophy the best: the highest level of performance and styling.”
This was just the second of the 39 Ferrari 250 GTOs ever made and the first of its kind to enter a race. Despite competition rules stipulating 100 examples be built, Ferrari got away with making only 39. This makes the car even more rare and more valuable.
